Latest News From The Conwy Ascent

Most Covid restrictions have been lifted in Wales so the race is planned to be going ahead as normal.

The pipe bridge at the finish is currently closed so there is no access to get onto or to cross the bridge.

From 9 May until 20 July the bridge from Llandudno Junction to Conwy was to be closed, it now has one way traffic with lights and road closures. If you come off at junction 18 to Conwy immediately before the tunnel to go to Tesco for supplies or to use their toilets you cannot go on to Conwy, you will need to go back to the A55 and under the river through the A55 tunnel and back into Conwy.

The latest forecast is for 15 degrees and a SW 16mph wind. This will be against the tide where you do the diagonal right to left cross about half way to the Tal y cafn iron bridge so the far side of the cross could get lumpy.
